Sorry if this has been discussed, I can't get the search to work on my phone/Tapatalk. I have a 7.62 bore brake on my 6.5. How much, if any, improvement will i see moving to a brake with a 6.5 bore? Thanks! Michael

Wow, I have read that article before but must have looked right past the yellow highlighted section. Haha. Maybe I am overthinking this subject a little.

I was searching for a muzzle brake for my 6.5 CM on a whim. Couldn't find one in the right thread dia/pitch but did find a .223 brake in my junk drawer. Off to the machine shop, bored it to 0.290 (size L drill) and screwed it on the end of the barrel. It's still on there today and works great. Recoil is down considerably from no brake and no change in zero needed.
When I bought my GreTan rifle in 6.5x47 Lapua, it had a muzzle device already mounted. Some research found it to be a mount for an M110 suppressor in 7.62. That thing worked wonders. I'm still looking for the suppressor though.

The M110 has a flash suppressor, not a muzzle brake. Additionally, the muzzle device is not what mounts the suppressor on the M110. The suppressor slides over the flash suppressor and about 4" of barrel then over a collar or sorts. The locking prong of the suppressor slides down into grooves on the side of the collar.

I am sure a Google search would come up with decent pictures but I am not going to try to figure out how to post pictures right now.

The prong/fork on the suppressor slides into the grooves on the gray collar.

Thanks for that. It may indeed be a flash suppressor but it sure acts like a brake. The rifle is 6.5x47L with a 22" bbl. Recoil is quite a bit less than my 13# AIAX chassis 6.5CM rifle. I would put it at somewhere between a 223 and a lightweight 22LR. I'm still working on this gun and will install the barreled action in a KRG X-ray next week.
