Does 120 grains of blackhorn 209, Kick as bad, or worse than 150 grain of triple seven pellets. I have heard most people get there best accuray at 105-110 with blackorn using 250 shockwaves and barnes TMZ

Re: Muzzleloader recoil?

I shoot a 120 grain load of BH 209 in my heavy Knight LRH MZ. I use the 300 grain Deep Curl bullet. The rifle has pretty stout recoil. About like a heavy 200 grain 30-06 load at about 2500 fps or so.

I also have shot a 120 grain load of T-7 with a 250 grain bullet. That recoil was noticably less than the BH load listed above. About like a 260 Remington. Tom.

Re: Muzzleloader recoil?

Dumb question of the day, but just for clarification, when you guys are talking about 110-120gr Blackhorn, you are referring to volumetric charges right, not weighed out on a scale?
