My 10/22 Trigger Won't Reset

Hello. I took my 10/22 in to the gunsmith last week because I felt like the trigger pull was too heavy. He installed a Volquartsen target hammer. The trigger was a little mushy in the take up but the pull was much less. I was pretty happy with the trigger.

Yesterday I took it to the range and noticed that the trigger does not reset after the gun fires. I have to push the trigger forward in order for it to reset. I'm using Wolf match ammo. Everything else seems to work properly.

Does anyone know what I could do to help the trigger reset on its own?

Make sure the trigger return spring is still in the trigger guard, if it is, he probably cut too much off the spring when he did the trigger job.
