Some more NE coyotes w/the 6x6.8, 55g NBT load at 3411 fps.
Popped this and his pal over a cow pile at 1130 am when I went to check it out after the rancher said he dumped one up there 4 days prior.
Both were nasty as you see, the other was dropped at 225 yards on the trot out like this one who was at 60 yards. I did not expect to see any at it, wind was at 15mph in their favor also and over the crest I came, saw them & dropped prone instantly and crawled the rest of the way about 50'. The other one was split by my 55g load at 3400 fps in the neck....nasty pic.
This was my 1st time at a new ranch I have in NE & he had me see his rancher contacts w/connection sections who I now have also....nice to pick up 23 sections in an afternoon.
Also in NE the other day, dropped at about 90 yards as it spun on a pin head when it busted us after flying into the call.
Was nicely fed and thick fur BUT yup had a tad of mange on its legs.
I had 6 coyote at 900 yards that this one came in from while all were sunning sleeping on a nice overlook they could see everything from a mile out. It was tough as heck to get as close as I did then went to calling and another bit till one got the nerve to come in at full speed. So far in the 3 times Ive hit the ranches here I have taken 7 coyote and there are plenty as no one has called shot here or on his neighbors (unless trespassing) that I have also. They have not given any access for any game due to poachers/trespassers/coyote contest shooters who they dislike intensely until they met good ol me who stated right off when asked I don't do contests ever, & that's true as gold. My 1 page printed background/ introduction I give ranchers have been a boon also.
