I recently picked up a used Helos 6x24 - 50, I have it mounted on my .308 Remington 700, and was having issues with losing parallax focus after ever round I fired. It was like the focus was popping out of place with the recoil, beach the knob was still on the range I had it set too. If I turned it away for the range, you could hear a slight pop, and the focus jump at the same time. I sent it in to them on Monday, and a new one showed up on my door step today. In less than a week they were able to get me back out at the range pretty much without skipping a beat!
I really appreciate their quick and easy service, I’ll be buying Athlon in the future as well for sure after this.
I’ve had a similar experience with Aimpoint as well. Same range day last week I was using my new ACO for the second time, and it wouldn’t turn on, I thought the battery was dead from me leaving it on (which I found out I didn’t). Bought a new battery, and it still didn’t run. I called Aimpoint, and talked to a service guy there, and he instantly knew what my issue was. There’s an array of 6 prongs inside the battery compartment, one of them had gotten bent down during the battery install, and was causing the battery to lose full ground contact. He had me bend the prong back up, and it‘s back to 100% again. I was talking to him about sending an Aimpoint 2000 in to them about 15 years ago for repairs. At that point it was probably 15 years old, and they fixed it for free for me. I told him I’m almost certain he was the one the fixed it then, he said probably, and there was no way he could fix that one now, since he probably used all his spare parts to fix mine. I’ve had that Aimpoint mounted on my Colt 22 for nearly 30 years, and it’s still running like a champ. Service like that is a great way to keep getting my money when I need to spend it on optics.
