My First AR - Ordered RRA Predator Pursuit 20"

Ordered my first AR the other day. I have a .308 bolt gun but wanted a semi-auto for ground hogs and coyotes. I don't have any experience building guns so I decided to buy a complete gun. Decided on the RRA Predator Pursuit 20" with half quad hand guard and a couple other minor upgrades from the factory. Can't wait to get it. 60-90 day wait.

Oh well, that will give me some time to figure out what type of optic to put on it.

Had the same gun with the bar. fluted. Shoots great.....

You will love it.

Mine liked 55 and 60 grain max.1/8 twist bar.

Yotes and many other things did not think highly of my Pred P for some reason.

Not that model, but I have an RRA that I am thrilled with.

Some clown, KYS-something or other, will probably be along shortly to tell you how his Noveske or GAP is superior and that's what you should've gotten. Pay no attention, and enjoy your rifle.

What type of optic are you considering?

I have had mine for a few weeks and am still working up loads. This little target is to show you that the 8 twist loves 52gn and 69gn SMKs. I have some 77gn on the way. It has been flawless so far and the factory 2 stage trigger is excellent. Regards

I'm sure some folks will suggest other rifles that may be superior to RRA. After doing some research and considering my lack of AR experience as well as limited time and budget I am confident with my decision to purchase the Predator Pursuit.

I'm undecided about optics. I have a lot of fields around my place where I can reach out a ways. Well, for varmint hunting anyway. I currently have an SWFA 10x42 on my .308. I was considering putting that on my AR and upgrading on the .308. Also considering something with variable power. I can't spend a ton of $$$. I'm also new to coyote hunting so I'm not sure what would be best. Any suggestions?

Have you tried any of the heavier bullets? 69 - 77?

Those look like some nice groups for just getting started. Let me know what your results are with the 77's.

Did you order yours or did you get it off the shelf somewhere? Just wondering how long the actual wait time is to get them.
