Picked up my 455 22LR last night. Got it through Jason Steele of steelefirearms.com. My first CZ and first rimfire anything. I spent about 3 hours this morning doing the following:
1. Changed action screws to J&P screws. Rear factory screw protruded into the action and was rubbing against the bolt and making the manipulation rough. Glad I got the J&P screws ready. One other note, the factory screws were either frozen, or screwed on very tight. My torque wrench was set at 70 in/lbs. and was still unable to unscrew the factory screws. I think someone was pissed at something when they put my rifle together.
I torqued the J&P to 20 in/lbs. and will play with settings when I shoot.
2. Installed Yodave Kit and improved factory trigger dramatically. Also installed extra power firing pin spring from J&P.
3. Removed barrel and cleaned it using methods prescribed on rimfirecentral forum with WD40. I still don't think I've cleaned it enough, but will see on the first trip. I did not have metric bits for my torque wrench so I had to use a regular hex wrench to remove and reinstall the barrel. I will get metric bits later and torque barrel to 30 in/lbs.
4. Degreased and cleaned action.
5. Cleaned stock and applied some Howard's. I will be refinishing the stock later on. The pores on this stock were not very noticeable which was nice.
6. Installed Burris steel rings and Bushnell 6x18x40 AO scope. Torqued rings to base at 30 in/lbs and rings at 15 in/lbs. I know how much to torque my centerfire rifles, but no idea on rimfires.
That's it until I get to shoot it. Here are some pictures:
The ammo I plan to test this baby with; I added another box of RWS Match to this group:
