My first time.

I mean my first time for airbrushing a scope.

I paint all the time in the studio, but this one's a first for me.
This is my Premier Heritage mounted on my AR10. I masked it off, sandblasted it with Garnet, airbrushed it with Duracoat and it came out a dead match. I was pretty happy with it.

Re: My first time.

Thanks.
I took my own advice for airbrushing paints. 4 thin coats. I used vinyl striping film for masking. I used an Iwata RG2 for applying the paint. I use this for very small to medium sized projects. Incredible airbrush.

What do you use? Have you done an entire rifle yet? I'm hoping to do a complete AR10 before long.

Re: My first time.

Nice pain job brotha. Im thinking of painting my gun too, but probably just Krylon for now in case I ever want to go back to my original look (its an LMT 308). This is just more inspiration to paint my gun sooner!

Re: My first time.

I sure won't say it wasn't scary altogether, but now they look like they were meant for each other.
I still have an A2 and an A4 I'm thinking about doing something with. I probably should leave the A4 alone, but I can see Duracoating the A2 and matching a scope to it. What do you think? I'd like to see a USO on it, but I really like the Heritage so maybe another one of them? And probably a darker color?
