My idea for my Tax Refund 7mmRM Build.

I've got a Savage 110 action (Mag face) layin around. Here's what I'm thinking. Let me know what you think and help me fill in the blanks.


Here's the specs

Action - Savage 110
Barrel - brand ?, twist?, 26" long, Varmint contour
Stock - XLR Industries Evolution (Options = DBM, Tactical butt stock upgrade, Single bipod rail, Ambidextrous cheek rest, Ace locking folder kit)
Base - EGW 20MOA

I'm not sure on the rings and optics at this moment.

Are there any barrel makers that do spiral fluting for a Savage barrel? Would I mess anything up having it fluted after chambering and crowned?

I'd suggest a Brux barrel, you can get them at Sharpshooter supply as a pre fit and they shoot pretty good.

No SSS for me. Been there done that. I got my first savage barrel from them. The lack of CS just didn't set well with me.

Make sure you get us some gun porn as you get underway. Im following this because, like you, going to be doing a 7MM build here rather soon. Nothing really to offer, since my build will be, from sounds of your plan and mine, will be quite different. Mine:
Rem 700LA, and pretty sure doing a Bartlien or Krieger fluted barrel. B&C, Timney...

I just want to see how yours turns out, as I may rob some idea's from ya..

Sin Arms is offering prefit Brux barrels now as well. Nice alternative to SSS.

I will either be going with Sin Arms or Jim at Northland for the barrel. I would really, really like to get it spiral fluted.
