Back in BHam!!!
A couple pics from today at the range. Great time, conditions were UNUSUALLY perfect. especially seeing as a storm was heading our way. Winds were 6-8 mph up until about 1500 when it dropped to like 1-2 mph, all winds were a direct headwind.

Ran some 100y stuff, Dot drills, etc, then moved it on out.

We ravaged a 8" plate at 600y most the day until it just got boring to shoot, then we hung the 12" plate at 1k.

While the lack of a cross wind took away a lot of the challenge, it was good to get a good idea of "what the rifle could do" for once without me assing up wind calls.

This was on top of the berm, no spotting scopes to watch trace with, misses gave you no feedback.

There were 3 of us shooting my rifle plus Steve's wife Clarice, who took two shots resulting in a 2nd round hit.

I shot first and got on target after about 3 rounds, once I got on, and had good dope, it was continuous nailing it. Let Steve drop down, first shot hit. Second shot, hit. Etc, etc, etc...

Steve's buddy Trey got down next, who has never shot 1k, 2nd round hit. Then banged it a few more times...

All in all between the 4 of us, there were 16 impacts out of around 30 shots fired. Not bad ratios for me, especially with no feedback from the misses.

Had a great time, grilled out some deer sausage, hung out with good friends in beautiful 73 degree weather. Who could ask for a better Sunday?

Can't speak high enough of USO, Badger Ordnance, GAP (Moon builds a terrific rifle), and Bartlien barrels... I think I truly have a winning combination here and can't wait to hit some comps next year. The Creedmoor so far has impressed me. It's shoving the 139gr Scenars out a tick over 2900 fps and it was 7.8 mils to 1K today. I feel right at home and comfortable behind this rifle, and it just plain shoots.

NICE RIFLE!! </div></div>

LOL, thanks, but no. The wind is the great equalizer....

Re: My new Creedmoor is a HAMMER!!!

Looks good! But I would stay away from that Steve guy as he looks like trouble LOL

Re: My new Creedmoor is a HAMMER!!!

Looks great man! Seems like you had a better Sunday than me, rofl, had to drive back from Memphis today. But Im home finally, planning on a trip over your way sometime this week or weekend if this storm doesn't get to bad, shoot me a PM if you wanna shoot some more.

Very nice shooting and that rifle is AMAZING

Re: My new Creedmoor is a HAMMER!!!

Very cool! I've tossing the idea around to change out my .308 Rem for the Creedmoor.

Haven't talked to Skunk in a long time. Hope he and his lady are doing well.

Just when I was getting over obsessing on how I need a 6.5/.........</div></div>

You too. I've got it bad 260, 6.5 Creedmoor, 6.5x47. Very nice build JRose.

Re: My new Creedmoor is a HAMMER!!!

Where the hell are you guys finding the DPMS 6.5 CM's? I am thinking about a Creedmoor upper for my AR to match the bolt gun. So far I am really liking this caliber.

Sounds like a great day of good shooting!

+1
I see 30calsniper doing some work for me in the future.

Great shooting Jrose. I love to read range reports from the guys around here.

Re: My new Creedmoor is a HAMMER!!!

DPMS Sells 6.5 Creedmoor rifles. They are currently on a 2 month retooling hold. They will be available as soon as DPMS is done updating their equipment. I might be ordering one when they are ready to begin production again. That goes for the .260 Rem version as well.

Re: My new Creedmoor is a HAMMER!!!

I did loose a few (4) primers yesterday which is kinda concerning me since, albeit a warm load, I'm not getting over pressure signs...

This being my first time using Hornady brass, and hearing about it being "soft", I hope it's just a few bad cases...

I didn't want to get my pee-pee slapped posting a 3 shot group.

I loaded my 140 AMAX up to 2870fps and I'm on the 4th loading on that brass with tight primers. Maybe your load is a little hotter than it's showing.

Maybe so, but I would just expect to see the tale tell signs, which I'm not. Case heads aren't shiny, primers are pretty flat, but still retain some round edges, usually no ejector marks, if so it's ever so slight...

Out of about 120-130 rounds, only 4 shucked primers.

Re: My new Creedmoor is a HAMMER!!!
