I would like to start out by giving a shout out to another hide member, my buddy Dantrom for doing the work. I told him what I wanted, and he ran with it and gave me a product that far exceeded what I could fathom with my little pea brain. Before he started on my rifle he told me that his main goal in doing all of this for me was to make the gun completely able to be taken apart, cleaned, and assembled in the field without needing any tools. (other than what is needed to clean the gun)

So he did several things to my gun, all of which he made the parts from scratch. First he turned my LR-308 into a left handed side cocker...I wanted this because I felt as a long range AR, I shouldnt have to worry about having my scope high enough and far enough foward to charge my gun. So by turning it into a side cocker, he eliminated the need for a rear charging handle which in turn allows me to mount my optic the most optimal way possible. It also allows me to charge the rifle with my left hand without moving from my shooting position, and losing my sight picture.

I cant give away all of the details, but he made it to where the handle does not move as the bolt cycles. The handle actually has a spring loaded clip that fastens itself to the upper to keep it in place. It is an extremely solid handle even with the moving parts, solid enough that it will withstand all of the punishment the recoil and I can dish out. He also made a peice that fit into the old charge handle slot, it fastens into place with a spring loaded detent pin that fits tightly into place which can be pulled out with your hand.(no special tool needed)

He also cut my barrel down from 24" to 22", threaded my barrel with 5/8 24 thread, and installed the brake on my rifle. He took a brake design that is only produced for the 5.56 and made one to fit on a 7.62. He timed and then sand blasted it along with the barrel to give it a matte look.

Thinking ahead, he also made extra parts for anything that I might lose in the field. He has a regular job, so he had to do this on his own time and take away from his normal activities. But he says he loves doing this and its what he would ultimately love to do for a living, he just needs a furnished shop...lol

Anyways, I know that this sounds pretty ass-kissy, but I just wanted to show my appreciation for everything this guy has done for me. I met him here on the hide and just got to talking about guns. I didnt know him long, but I trusted him enough to send him my upper and told him to do what he felt would be best. And it turned out great, so if any of you guys are thinking about it, maybe you guys can hit him up for a AR facelift.

Sorry for the crappy pics,I have a DD handguard that I will install tomorrow and post new pics with some close ups of Dantroms handy work. Also, that is my new USO sn-3 3.2-17x58 that I just got today. Its a mil/mil with the mil gap ret.

I know some pics are blurry, I'll take some more of his work, and I know the gas block does not fit, it was just on there for the pic.
