My 12 year old son's first year of real hunting, we spent 8 days in Kentucky and had a lot of fun. Like most kids he started out very impatient and had a hard time being quiet, moving quietly and standing still. We worked on stalking, being quiet and using cover, by now you can tell I am not a tree stand hunter. He had several opportunities to take shots but didn't, finally after 6 days in the woods he got within 25 yards of this doe in heavy timber and dropped her with one shot to the neck with his Remington 788 7mm-08. I had so much fun watching him I didn't care if I shot anything myself.
