So after waiting for what seemed like an eternity the rifle was ready. First thing I did was get out my bore scope and check out the chamber. It was freaking awesome!! The chamber walls had an almost mirror finish. The transitions from case wall to shoulder to neck was well defined and without burrs or reamer "smudges", which happen when you cut a chamber too quickly. Each land's leade was even, with a definite start and finish, which means the chamber is concentric with the bore. I could go on and on, but you get the picture, Marc can cut a freaking chamber!!! The barrel crown is another important part of a great shooting rifle and here again Marc didn't dissapoint. It was concentric, cleanly cut and had no burrs.

The club logo was crisply acid etched on both action and barrel which give this rifle, "5 of 10" a very distinctive look. The cerakote by Todd at Phantom was evenly applied with no runs or high spots and the bolt slid smoothly and locked up tight in the action. Rounds chambered smoothly through the feeding cycle and empties ejected clear of the ejection port.

So, shortly after receipt of the rifle, on an 80 deg day, I took it out and shot a couple test loads. Remington 260 brass, Fed 210 (no, not the 210M), Lapua 139gr, and 43.0 and 43.5 grains of H4350. The brass was stuff I'd been shooting in my other 260 that I had full length sized to make sure it fed in this new chamber and the bullet was seated to just clear the front of the AI mag, so nothing special. As you can see, on the target picture, the center diamond has a shot at 1130 high, which is my first shot. Then adjusted to shoot the three in the diamond then shot the 43.0 gr 5 shot group on the right, and the 43.5 gr 5 shot group on the left. By the way, that 43.5gr 5 shot group measures .455 from edge to edge. Minus .264=.191 !!!!!!!!!! That's with an untweaked load, or weighing brass, or neckturning, or match primers, or figuring out the last .001 jump to or away from the lands. So, great job Mr Soulie, thanks for a great rifle!!!!!!
