Rifle Scopes Need 4 inch eye relief LPVO after fruitless search

Hi team - hope I can find an answer here and maintain my sanity after a fruitless 40 hour search. I'm trying to find a LPVO to fit to a 'tactical' lever action build (...don't hate me.) I'm using the below mount from Ashley Performance. The trouble is with the scope mounted quite far forward I need decent eye relief in a scope to work, eg 4 inches. With COVID I am really struggling to find anything available that fits the bill and is in stock. The usual suspects like Vortex don't have near 4 inches of eye relief. The only thing I can really find is a Vixen 1-6x24mm with just under 4 inches of relief.

Cartridge is .30-30.
Intended use is fun at the range.
All daylight shooting.
Shooting from 50 yards to 200ish.
Happy to pay fairly decent money for the scope just to have a solution and end this miserable search.
Also needs to be fairly compact so it fits nice and low as pictured below.

I’m pretty sure their are pistol scope out there that have an intentionally long eye box I’ve seen a couple but never owned one, semmins comes to mind.

I just picked up a 2-10 vortex PST and I’m fairly impressed with the long eye releaf and large eyebox it has, then again I mounted ur to a SCAR. So it’s more like 3” than 4”.

Gnochi, nice setup I see you have the Ranger trigger and loading gate, I've got them on the way. Nice glass too! Alas I'm obsessed with the Ashley Performance mount and really want to try to find an optic to suit.

E-tool, I considered the same thing but I read that the eye relief in pistol scopes will be too large for mounting on a rifle. Checked out Simmons and their 1-4x20 actually has excellent eye relief! ..but it's a bit cheap, and sold out everywhere. The PST is listing 3.2 inches of eye relief so I wouldn't be game to risk it, nice scope though.

Acudaowner Arkin's are all sold out, Swampfox pretty good eye relief but just a little short. Appreciate your suggestions though.

I had never heard of shotgun/muzzle loader scopes - their eye relief looks perfect, thanks so much! Starting to get somewhere now.

I can't speak for all of them, but the scope I mentioned above is paralax adjusted at 75 yards as opposed to the normal 150. Something to keep in mind.

For those playing along at home I have found two contenders and I think they will be the finalists. After sooo many hours on this I'm almost there....

• Vortex Ranger 1-4x24
• Vortex Viper PST 1-4x24

Both have 4" of eye relief... actually they both have identical stats, what the?? Is there a difference between these scopes besides their name?

Edit: Google explained they're the same thing. Time for bed (shift worker.)

I have an older Trijicon Accupoint 1.5-4 power. Eye relief on 1.5x is 5"-6" and VERY forgiving.. On 4x is still at least 4". Trijicon LPVO's seem to be well liked on top of big boomers by dangerous game hunters in Africa.

No hate here. I actually love the idea of a tactical lever action. Besides, if Biden gets in office I'm sure we'll all be looking for tactical lever actions The idea of a nice lever action .357 magnum to match my S&W 686 is not far away, there are benefits to using the same ammo for both pistol and rifle for short range situations.

With regard to your question on 4" eye relief and shooting 50-200 yards, you shouldn't need more than 1-4x, the Vortex CROSSFIRE II 1-4X24 has 3.9", but a scope with a forgiving eyebox will probably help you more even with slightly less eye relief. I would give serious consideration to the Steiner P4Xi 1-4x24, this is one of the best 1-4x scopes on the market and at a decent price, send @gr8fuldoug a note at CameralandNY and he will help you out for sure with the Steiner and other possible alternatives.

Needham that is a great option - I've decided to stick with the Vortex though because it's lighter weight, I love its reticle and its great warranty.

WB300 I'm actually in Australia and I can't import a Trijicon, even though they're for sale here but out of stock. I wouldn't mind one as they're obviously a high build quality optic.

WJM308 The Crossfire is good and is actually available locally so I don't have to spend USD125 on shipping but its reticle is inferior for holdover work at 200-300 yards so I'm going the Vortex Ranger.

The Steiner looks lovely and I could source one locally but with magnification applied eye relief drops to 3.5 inches so I'm passing.

Thanks to everyone for their suggestions - wrapped I have finally made a decision. Just need to wait two months for USD125 express post from the US to Australia thanks to Covid.

Specs show 3.5 - 4 inches of eye relief and the one I have is damned close.

If you buy and don't like it you can sell it here pretty much for what you paid. The same can't be said for all of the cheaper options you've listed so far.
