Have an ARMS #23 foregrip I want to mount on my Colt AR Sporter. I've researched options from vendors (not alot of quality choices IMHO) and settled on the one from Bush Master. It's made of AL, is tapered to run parallel to the bore, stands off so 4 of the 6 cooling holes function and mounts solidly with bushings. Bush Master quoted 2 weeks B.O., so I ordered, and 2 weeks has come and gone. Now they have no idea how long it will take to actually have stock to ship (WTF)??? Are there any dealers that carry Bush Master products like this??? Bush Master had no idea. Was hoping to have the grip mounted for an event in Oct.. Does anyone have an idea or preference for a similar style rail (don't want a $10 UTG piece either) that a vendor will actually have in stock??? Thanks In Advance !!! Joe

Are you F***ING KIDDING me? There are probably in excess of 200 different quality forearms out that have a pic rail on the bottom to lever your POS ARMs grip onto.

Guess I'm not interested in spending $200-400 on a F**KING POS Tacti-Cool forearm for putting my POS ARMS grip on my POS Colt Sporter. Do you live in California BTW???

I really DO appreciate you taking the time to post your suggestions with included links. The Buffertech is more what I had in mind so I could keep the original Colt forearm. Maybe you could also educate this "Clueless Bastard" as to why the ARMS grip is so inferior. I have an ARMS #16A carry-handle mount for my Aimpoint M2 and am impressed with the quality and function. Just trying to be brand loyal when I can. This is my first (and last) AR since getting out of the Navy in '79 (inherited from a close friend). Trying to keep this Colt as "Colt" as I can. I DID however put an SEI Vortex FH (I've always enjoyed my dealings with Ron Smith), maybe that was "Clueless" also. I do get to borrow a can with a compatible mount quite often. Best Regards! Joe

I am not sure why there is so much hostility in this thread. I don't have a ton of experience with ARMS mounts, but enough to know I will never use one again. They are notorious for snapping.

What specific model did you want to order?
Are you looking for free float, or drop-in? What gas system do you have? The carbine? Do you have the FSP still in place?

Not sure whether this meets your specs but Knight's Armament is currently selling the RAS II for $150.00 Knight's Armament RASII at full price this wouldn't be my first choice for a free-float carbine-length handguard but at $150.00 I picked one up for an SBR-to-be (starting life as a pistol) build I have going. IMHO its better than anything else available at that price or anything close to it. The RAS II would be allot more solid than a rail mounted on the plastic handguard if you want to run a VFG and as a bonus it free-floats the barrel which should improve accuracy. YMMV
