I have a barret m99 with 27moa built in and scope with 70 total how much moa of a mount do I need to get to 1760?
Also ruger precision in 6.5 with 20 moa built in and scope with 65 total . Would like to beable to do 1000-1200

Here is an estimate based on my 6.5CM... running my 140gn at 2775 FPS I am 8.7mil at 1000 and 13 mil at 1250 yds... this equates to 29.36 MOA and 43.88 MOA. You should not have any issues in dialing to 1,250. With my scope, I could dial to 1600 and would have to hold over after that, but don't have a range to actually shoot past 1250.

Using the hornady 750 amax bullet in my simple ballistics app and a 100 yard zero, it says you will need 51.59 moa to reach 1760. That’s assuming you get close to the 2820fps hornady says they get out of a 36 inch test barrel. I had a 29 inch barrel, but I don’t remember what kind of numbers it had, sold it last month.

I should have 62 moa available total 35+27

I will buy over the counter match for 1000yards or more on the .50 and some ball for 100-700 . And probably prime for the 6.5

So amax on a competition line is usually the sign of a first time shooter. I'm not saying amax can't shoot well, I'm just saying that in general it doesn't. Making it perform requires a vast amount of effort that no manufacturer will ever take. I strongly suggest buying ammo from a know match ammo vendor like Thunder Ammo and ask him specifically for quality brass (Not Winchester). WCC brass in 50 is easy to prep but it is too soft at the head and usually have issues after 3 shots. If you do this you can shoot a few matches and probably shoot at the limits of your ability rather than your ammo's and then you'll have well prepped brass to start reloading with. It will be far better than the shit on a shingle amax in Winchester brass that won't shoot well and won't be reloadable.
