Right now I'm looking at getting a YHM Phantom QD TI my father has one and it seems to do pretty well and I already have the qd mounts on 2 rifles one of which is pinned and welded. My dilemma is I'm looking at spending $850 for the can and I'm wondering if there is anything substantially better than the can I am considering. One thing of note is that with the phantom on my 20" ar I have a 1.5 mil downward shift of poi at 100 yds with no horizontal shift. This can will also be used nearly exclusively on gas operated rifles however I would not rule out use on a bolt gun in .300 or 7mm in the distant future.

Criteria:
Must be .30 cal
Weight should be around 16 oz less is always better.
Sound should be better than the Phantom TI
QD mounting system "Does not have to be compatible with yhm qd"
As little poi shift as possible.

Thanks for any help and sorry for another one of these type threads.

In no particular order..

DeadAir Sandman series of Silencers, as well as their Nomad (can run multiple different QD mounting options)
SiCo Omega (can run multiple different QD mounting options)
Energetic Armament VoxS (can run multiple different QD mounting options)
Rugged series of silencers (proprietary mounting system)
Torrent Silencers T3Ti and Orthrus (can run multiple different QD mounting options)
TBAC
Q series of silencers

Criteria:
Must be .30 cal
Weight should be around 16 oz less is always better.

There are quite a few options that will fit the criteria of what you're looking for.

From Griffin Armament, that'd be either the Paladin .300, which is 14.5oz, user serviceable, and uses our Taper Mount interface (can be mounted/dismounted in about 2.5 seconds) or the Explorr .300, the most durable, high performance, tubeless centerfire rifle silencer on the market. 12.5oz, 17-4 Stainless

Well I will be making my purchase within a month so... Sooner I make the purchase the sooner I can look forward to those lovely wait times.

I’ve got several 30 cal cans, but I am personally a fan of the Silencerco Omega 30. The can accepts an assortment of different mounts, but I prefer the one it’s comes with, the ASR. As long as no user error is involved it is great and I run it on all my cans where possible. The Omega has treated me well.

I really like my surge as well, have not been a able to test it for accuracy yet but from what I hear from other members it is outstanding. Only drawback is that it is heavy.
Yeah, thats why I'm looking at the Radiant. I am also eyeballing the Paladin 300 as it would allow me to mount it on a .22 not neccesarily a requirement but it is a plus.

The biggest upside to having a durable user-serviceable centerfire silencer like the Paladin is the ability to return the silencer to factory weight and performance specs after thousands of rounds. Having a long term investment item like a silencer that can be easily and quickly returned to like-new condition after years of use is definitely a significant point of consideration!

I feel like all I have been doing lately is promoting Surefire cans, haha. I don.t mean to sound like a broken record. But, the new Surefire 300 TI can fits your requirements. It is definitely more expensive than the YHM price. So that may rule it out. But you are not going to get much better return to zero and little to no shift in impact with the SF socom mounting system.

SAS Arbiter is a good Ti can, has a couple mounting options.

TBAC is probably better.

Why not do a Form 1 and build your own? Wait time is weeks compared to months or years.

Well, going to do a form 1 efile started on it tonight will be going with 1.75" dia. x 6" length tube with a 3" extension titanium construction using Griffin mounts.

Absolutely LOVE my Chimera 300 from SilencerCo. I have ASR brakes on everything, and just move it around as necessary from my 300 Win Mag, to my 223's ... and everything in between (6.5-CM, 6.5-G, 224-V, 300-AAC, etc). Quiet, reliable, versatile ... what's not to like?

Tip ... get a pair of welders gloves and a small welding blanket to move between rifles and avoid the "cool down wait" to start reshooting.
