Need advise on rings

Hello, I just purchased the ruger precision in 308. I am purchasing a Vortex Viper PST Gen II 5-25x50mm Rifle Scope, Illuminated EBR-4 (MOA) Reticle. I can not find anywhere which ring size to purchase.

I am looking at the Vortex Pro Series 30mm Rings, High with a Center Scope Height: 1.26" (32mm) or the Vortex Pro Series 30mm Rings, Extra High with a Center Scope Height: 1.54" (39.1mm). Any help on which rings to purchase would be appreciated.

Also have a question about bipods. Someone suggested the magpul bipod but others have told me it is not sturdy enough for the weight of the rifle and to go with an atlas instead.

Ring height is as much a personal preference as a functional one....there is no right or wrong. I would bet that scope would still clear the barrel with even the .9" low rings. Get the rifle and scope and play around with some pennies/spacers between them to see what height you prefer like this: https://www.americanrifle.com/shop/product/m10-scope-rings-7?category=15

As for the bipod, go for the Atlas. It's far and away superior to the Magpul unit. When I finally put a crowbar in my wallet and got a CAL it was the best move I ever made.
