My first real rifle. My grandpa gave it to my uncle while he was in high school, and then my uncle passed it on to me. First time I took it to the range I was about 15 and it shot MOA or a little under with off the shelf hunting ammo. Gave me my first and only scope ring kiss. Just 3 shot groups back then, but still pretty decent for me all things considered.

I stole the 3-9 Leupold off it for something else and have put a bunch of different scopes on it and traded them all around over the years. Haven’t shot it in I don’t know how long. It has basically no value to anyone but me. I want something relatively cheap to put on it, mainly just so it is complete and functioning tool.

I really don’t want to spend anything on this, but I also don’t want junk. I think I can barely stomach spending 5 hundred dollar bills on this thing. What should I look at?

That rifle was made for offense as well as defense. Then someone upped that ability with a chamber change. If you are wanting to stay its path to date, and don't care about Gucci, look at a Hawke 14211 Always remember there are no different levels of dead, or out of the fight, and lite is always right.

Just working off of initial impressions after mounting it, I kinda sorta halfway think I love this thing. Maybe...

Just out here looking through it in the twilight and yeah it would be nicer if the image was super bright, but it looks to be fully useable. I saw my first yote just now during daylight hours. Been here 2 years and I've only heard them and seen them with thermals at night until just now. Not that I ever plan on taking shots at coyotes with a .300 win mag, but it seems like this combo is trying to tell me they are going to get shit done if I let them. Ehh, we'll see. Wonder how long it will take me to put some shots down range? It'll either happen this weekend or sometime in the next few years. Thanks for the suggestions guys even though I didn't use them. Though it did lead me in my research which ultimately landed me where I did so...anyhow thanks.
