I live in Gestapo CT and I'm having a hard time finding a gunsmith to chamber and thread a barrel to 264 win mag here. I'll ship it out if I have to find someone who has the reamers and is willing to do the job. Everybody I talk to here seems scared to do this for me. I don't understand.

Its going on a trued remington 700 action with ptg bolt. This is going to be a hunting gun for me. Once machined ill set headspacing and assemble on a choate stock I have sitting around.

Are you saying you only want them to chamber and thread barrel and you will set the head space your self once the machining is done are you using a barrel nut system if not then I can see why they wont touch it.

If it's not a barrel nut setup most gunsmiths will not chamber a shouldered remingtion 700 barrel for you to set your own headspace. If you look at his second post he talks about setting his own headspace. now if you are using a barrel nut system contact PVA or Bugholes they both chamber barrels for barrel nut systems.
