Hey guys, I’m trying to help an older guy with a recent trade he acquired. My quick google search showed it’s most likely a Walther KKM with several different iron sight combos and reticles. A Unertl scope is mounted but not sure what power.
It’s obviously not in the greatest shape finish wise but mechanically it looks good. I’m sure there is a very small market for this, but he is looking to get a value and a potential buyer if there’s one out there. Thanks, Dan
There's lots of knowledge there. KKM International Match? KKM S with adjustable cheekpiece?
Scope should be a 20X as indicated on the ocular locking ring. Unertl had 20Xs in a number of different models. Post your inquiry on the scope in the Vintage Sniper Rifle Forum here or again try RFC https://www.rimfirecentral.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=32
It appears to have been improperly stored thus the rust on the right side of barrel and scope. I'd scope the barrel before offering it for sale.
I have no idea on values for either. As in all things old, condition is king. Both are top of the line for their era. If the buttplate assembly is original to the rifle it should be late enough to have a date on the left of the barrel next to the receiver.
Thanks guys, I’m pretty sure 74 was stamped on the left side of the barrel. My family friend who has it got it from a guy who recently passed away. He’s not internet savvy and was curious what they go for. I have no idea what he’s got into it for money. He’s a big trader/swap meet guy so who knows. Judging by condition and the extras such as the Walther iron sights, would it be safe to say $800-$1000 with the scope?
The scope is probably worth $500. I think the rifle alone is an easy $1000 in average condition, but that barrel rust is a deduct. Try posting pics on targettalk.com
