I am hoping someone could help me out. I acquired this rifle from my father back in 1999/2000ish timeframe. He had purchased it from a local shop in Florida many years before that. From what I remember, it was specially built maybe for police use. The barrel has been contoured strangely at the end to accept a specific suppressor that was atleast from what I remember was specific to the rifle and comes down over the barrel up to the cut just before the stock. I’ve never seen one like it. Dad never got around to doing the paperwork on the suppressor and unfortunately the shop burnt down and closed. I have heard some of these old Remingtons could be special. I’m not sure if that’s the case on this one. But any insight or information on this would be great to know. What I do know about the rifle is it’s a Remington barrel chambered in .308 1-12 twist. The bolt has been jeweled. It has a jewell trigger and I believe it’s the stock is Remington. I have been toying with the notion of putting a 26” bartlein 6.5 on it as I’ve recently re ignited my desire to get into long range shooting.

Good luck finding that suppressor honestly. He was arrested for fraud some years ago and doesn’t make anything now. You might get lucky if you want to stay with original gun, but I don’t think it’s very special in terms of collecting, but I could be wrong.

I’m not too concerned about getting a suppressor for it. I actually did run across one about 10 years ago. They wanted $1100 for it and I passed on it because it looked like it was beat to hell, and it was one piece. You couldn’t even take it apart to clean it. But it threaded right onto it. It was actually kinda funny. They seemed completely shocked. It was almost like they didn’t even know what they had.
