I have a Savage 10 FCP with an HS Precision stock, NF 5.5-24X56 scope with a set of low rings. When I assume best achievable position of aim with this setup, I am looking through the top of my eyeglasses, outside the plane of my vision Rx. I have my cheek pressed onto the rear stock. I think raising the ring height would help. What are the best options of correcting my vision and best use of optics ?

I have the same problem. I think raising the rings would make the scope even higher. I put a Karsten cheek rest on mine to raise my cheek weld but in the prone position, I am still looking through the tops of my glasses.

I first went to NF med. rings. My cheek rest was all the way down and I still had to cock my head to get a good sight picture.
I changed to 2 sizes taller and now I'm able to keep my head straight. I wear progressive lens glasses.

Sorry longbluff. Been offline. When you said you were looking out of the top of your glasses and outside of your RX, therefore wanting to lower the center of the scope to line up to the center of your glasses rather than the top. Yes, raise the rings as outlined by Highflyer. My bad.

If you are looking thru the top of your glasses you need to raise your eye relative to the scope. Put a cheek rest on the stock and see what that does for you before going to higher rings which will raise the scope even higher.

longbluff, make it easy on yourself and get your eye doctor to move the optical center of your prescription to the point you are comfortable looking out of.
It's not hard to do!!! Other than be able to explain to him your head position. He can mark that center and have the glasses ground to suit.

I cannot speak for anyone that's farsighted, but actual Rx shooting glasses have worked for be since before I went bi-focal to the present (I'm nearsighted).
The bigger lenses solve the problem along with them being set-up to see from a head-down (or any) position. For shooting I use the distance only correction. Decott Hy-Wyrd (originally designed for Trap & Skeet) have worked for me for ~30 years...there are a number of others out there. Call them with your prescription and see what they advise.
