Ok guys here's the situation: I bought an accustock/accutrigger savage in 7RM two years ago when I decided I wanted to get into some long range shooting. Problem is, I have gotten the bug for it and enjoy it. I have shot a couple of competitions as well as taken the rifle hunting this year. As she sits, I have a McGowan SS match varmint contour bbl and that's all I have done to the gun itself.
Now, what I want: I want to order a McMillan A5 for it. I have quickly learned that single feeding after I exhaust my factory 3rnd detachable magazine in a match sucks. I need to know what my options are for bottom metal and fitting to an A5 where I can run a higher capacity magazine.
When I find the bottom metal that I am looking for, can I simply tell McMillan what bottom metal I have and they send me a stock that will work? Do I have to send it to a smith to order the stock? And lastly, if I want to take the gun hunting, am I then stuck with a high capacity magazine or is there other smaller magazines that would work with the bottom metal that would make it easier to hunt with?
Many thanks in advance gentlemen for the advice and information.
