Need some advice

A little while ago I purchased a savage Mk 2 FV hoping that one day I could make a 400yd Shot. Since then I have been trying to find out what I would need. That is where I am asking the snipershide community for help. I know I would need some type of 20-25moa rail, However my real dilemma is the scope. I want a scope with mil-dots but I cannot afford a leupold or u.s. optics. Is there any nice mil-dot scope that I could make a 400yd shot with without going over $200? Any comments would be appreciated.

Get yourself some Burris Signature rings.They have inserts that make it possible to orient the scope as needed.The new Weaver 3-10 or Bushnell 3200 10X would work I think.

rail, go with rimfire technologies 25 moa, and the burris rings will help alot more of gain the cant needed.

as amount of "clicks" needed to place hits on target at 400 yards, i'm not sure what scopes would allow that much adjustment, however i'd believe that most would allow you to bottom out the adjustment and the use of the mildots as a holdover would get you there. especially with the sloped base / ring combo mentioned

Thank you all for your help. Where would I go about finding the rimfire tech rail? Steve123 thank you for suggesting the bushnell I have decided to get it. Any more advice would be greatly appreciated.

before this turns into a RT vs EGW thread, here are my unbiased opinion on both:

i don't know if yours has the accutrigger, however if not check out rifle basix trigger for it

there's a ton of opinions and models for a good mildot scope for under $200.00, from mueller to vortex to tasco to bushnell to barska. for the price of 69.00, the walmart centerpoint hasn't let me down yet. i would stay away from bsa, i've had bad experiences with them after about 2.5 years of use they seem to crap out.

you'll have to do some searching on the optics side of things, there is a good selection, not all are worth much though, choose carefully.
