I want to build and AR in .223 to coyote hunt with. I know nothing about AR's and there is so many components and brands that it's mind blowing. I want a cheaper flattop build with 16" barrel that's about my only requirements. Can somebody please point me towards the right setup.

How much $ did you have in mind? Also are you going to do all of it yourself or did you want to get a complete lower and a complete upper.

If your buying a complete gun, take a look at shotgun news. They had a store in there selling S&W MP15 I think for around 799 with 4 free mags. I personally don't like S&W but it's good platform to start with

DPMS, Rock River, CMMG, LMT, Smith & Wesson...Check GunBroker. I am sure you can find what you are looking for quickly. Right now there is a glut in the market (imagine that) and you can find some decent prices. I have seen quite a few 10-20% off sales at local gun shops.

DPMS, Rock River, CMMG, LMT, Smith & Wesson...Check GunBroker. I am sure you can find what you are looking for quickly. Right now there is a glut in the market (imagine that) and you can find some decent prices. I have seen quite a few 10-20% off sales at local gun shops.

Can I build one for around $600?? It really don't matter I can do all the work or get completes..Which ever is cheaper and better.

I have had really good luck with CMMG uppers, not a single problem with feeding, ejecting or anything els for that matter. They are also not picky with ammo like some others (Stag!) and will feed even Wolf ammo just fine.
The one advice Ill give you is to get a midlength gas system, they work a lot better than Car.

Any of the bigger companies make decent entry level ARs. The dangerous thing with ARs is that there is so many cool variations and toys you can buy. If you just want a Yoti killer spending 800 on a rifle and whatever your budget can afford on optics. I second the mid length gas system. Finding a Used AR locally shouldn't be to hard. I have a Colt 6920 - nothing "high end" by any means. Shoots fine to 300 yards and works great on Yotis. Don't get sucked into all the "tacticool" AR add ons or you will be 2 or 3 grand into your AR before you know it.

The uppers you might be able to find for 4 - 600 depending. The stipped lowers are easy to find pretty cheap. I have an all Spikes Tactical M-4 with a 16" Daniel Defense barrel with a 1/7 twist that shoots 55 gr and 62 gr. really well. I bought the lower first then I saved up some more and had them build my upper. It now sits in a case with an Eotech XPS, and a Olight M-30 700 lumen light in the trunk of my cruiser.

CMMG usually has some "factory seconds" for around $600.00, they are scratch and small blemish type deals. If your yote hunting you'll do worse than that to it the first time out. I'd suggest a 1 in 7 twist so you can shoot 77 gr. SMK's, they put a yote down pretty well.

Not likely.
You can buy a stripped lower/parts kit for about $180, a stock for about $40 and an upper starting at $525.
If you are unfamiliar with ARs, I would NOT go this route. The stripped lower is just a frame, and the parts kit is a bunch of springs and pins. It's a pain for the newbie.
Buy a complete lower for about $240, then an upper staring at about $525. Smack the 2 together and you're good.

plus one for the cmmg bargain bin rifles. I have had several some came with double star lowers, others were dpms, some were cmmg. ALL were 599.00 plus 20.00 for hand picked.
The only thing I wasnt able to find on any of them was a scratch ding mark or any other sign that they were anything but new.
They are fine truck guns.
