When I got home from Iraq I had a light weight 280 Ackely built for deer hunting. Well I kinda liked it when I was running it out to 500 so figured what the hell will build one more suited for the distance.

    Stiller TAC-300 action
    Krieger 28" 12 Flute barrel
    Badger M5
    McM Adj HTG Pillar bedded

Have a Jewell Trigger for it just not sure where the hell its at. Wife just stacks my gun parts on the shelf when they arrive and it shows delivered but no luck finding it yet.

Work done by Triple G gunsmithing in Stephenville. Garland does a great job and has a 2 week turnover. My other sticks built in his shop all shoot 1/2" or better. Originally picked up an A5 for this project but the channel on it was alot larger than the Sendero contour so went with this HTG I picked up off the hide.

Pics no pool porn though (dont have a pool)

Glass is inbound from Sportoptics for the M1A, and the 300 will get the glass off my Kimber advanced tactical since I purchased it to replace the KAT. Have a nice VX3LR to put on the 280AI for now to see how she does.

Went to Cabela's today to get some new 300 and 280AI brass and whatnot. Didnt have any Nosler Ackley brass so just got regular 280 and I guess I will fireform on this one.

    Hey

What is your lightweight 280 Ackley? What does it tip the scales at? Pictures? I had a Weatherby Ultralight/SBM punched out to 280 Ackley, haven't carried it afield yet, but it is nice. Thanks.

Not sure on weight, but has a #3 contour barrel and laminated boyds stock. My definition of light weight may be a bit skewed from other peoples definition simply because I dont own many rifles with small contour barrels. Will get a scale on em both later though. Still gotta get off my lazy ass and finish the hunting one,

    Both 280 Ackley's

i love the 280 AI round, i'm just shooting some factory stuff from nosler at the moment, i need to get a reloading set up for this thing. i'm hoping to use some 168 grain berger bullets, but i'm still playing with it. i know this season i'll be using 160 grain Partition this season just because i don't have the time to get reloading. I'm comfortable shooting to 700-800 yards with it
