Don't know if this should be posted in the reloading section , but here it goes.
I am getting a rifle built built on a Rem 700 with a McMillan A5 stock with a Krieger 30 in. 1-10 twist medium varmint contour barrel. Rifle will be used to shoot paper to 1k meters, and maybe used for long range hunting if I get good enough to shoot that distance.
Just wonderig what peoples thought on what bullet weight I should start loading for it.

The 200gr Accubonds and Retumbo or H1000 is a match made in heaven for .300 RUMs. Start at around 91-92gr of Retumbo and work up to around 95gr until you find your barrels sweet spot. My .300 RUM shot .4's with the Accubonds. Might also try the 210gr VLD's. Shoot that barrel out (1200 rounds of you're very easy on it) and then rechamber it to a .338 Edge.

Rechamber to .338 Edge. Now your talking. My preferred choice for this build was the .338 Edge but I am getting this rifle in this rifle in a trade, and the gunsmith had a .308 barrel on hand. I have some 210 Bergerac on hand, so I will be trying those out over Retumbo.
