Ordered a Seekins DMR 6mm arc today. Should have it in a few days and want to get a head start. What is the consensus on best mags, preferably 5-10 round? Currently I don’t reload so factory ammo for now. Any of the factory offerings showing consistently good accuracy? Rifle will be primarily used for hunting inside 250 yards. Thanks for any input.

I think that barrel has a 1:8 twist vs the more common 1:7.5 twist rate for 6 ARC. Some people find better accuracy with lighter bullets, but they also handload. You can try the 3 Hornady offerings and see what it likes best. Seems the 105 Hornady Black and 108 ELD-M are the most available.

I've had no issues with the 6ARC-specific ASC mags (ones with red followers) in my Seekins DMR, if you want another option, too.

From what I've been reading, most of the 5-10rd mags feed pretty well. It's the higher capacity (20rd+) where the issues start popping up for some reason.

Duramag, E-lander, ASC, and Geiselle ($$) all seem to work pretty reliably in my experience. There may be some upper/lower tolerance fit issues that cause one or another not to jive so well but if everything is made right and you have a good mag catch those have all been solid.

I've seen some stepped mag catches that drop the magazine position lower cause issues and I don't really know why someone would make such a thing but they do.

Because the cartridges are so short and fat they do not stack well in the larger mags, so they get out of alignment and jam up.
5s, 10s & 20s work the best.
