mine are loaded with 47.8gr of 4350 and get 2750fps with 162amax out of my 24" 9 twist 3 groove benchmark barrel. be careful because my overall length is 2.95 i run aw mags so i have the room

    Re: New 7mm-08 Build

Looks great Bob, you're gonna dig it!

    I run 40.3 I4895 for right around 2725 at 2.845"

Folks-don't let the 1:8 on the Amax box scare you (I know we discussed this Bob, but I'm posting it for those interested in this underrated caliber), mine's been to 1K pointy end first out of an old Douglas that is 1:9.5/10
And btw-a G1 BC of .585/.580 works with my real world data better than Hornady's published .625

Bob I am in the looking of what I will change my 308 into once she is burned out. What are the velocities you get with 162 amaxs? (if you haven't shot any of them go shoot some for me

    MiST,

I've got 162 A-Max's and I've shot a bunch of 'em, but it's been to damn cold to drag out the Chrono, and I'm a pussy........as well as terminally lazy. Maybe next week it will get above freezing, and I'll run some thru the screens.

Right now I've gotten excellent groups with new WW brass, Fed 210'M's, 2.845" COAL and 46.6 H4350. I'm estimating about 2700 FPS from my 26" barrel. But won't be sure till I see it on the display.

If you got money, I've got a 7mm barrel, got a spare cut rifled Brux in the closet: 27" blank, MTU contour, 1-8" twist
