Wa. State....dry side
Well I finally got around to doing this.
I have been brain storming this for quite a while in my head and this is #2 for Proto-type.

Here is the old way of doing dope on your A2 stock.

Here is the new style.

How about a 10 round ammo card:

Or your favorite patch:

And FWIW: "no" it doesn't conflick with the charging handle.

Thanks for looking,

Amen to that!! BUT, with that said, if you can find a single mag pouch with hook/loop fasteners on the back...attach it to the stock acc pack at your own discretion.

Nice work RedMan*!!! Looks like a winner to me!

Re: New AR15/10 - A2 stock acc. pack from R.T.G.

Nice to see you've finally started in that direction!

I still think that a modded Eagle Pack is ideal, you remember me hacking mine up a couple of years ago:

One possible compromise would be a padded version of yours?

PS - got the package of new cool Red Tac stuff you sent, I like the repair job on the bag, and the rest of the kit has been integrated into my system!

Ok, here is the million dollar ? for everyone.....
What exactly is, and where does Eagle get their black padding from ?

Is it suede...nubuck...or ?

Challenge is out....if you can find it for me, company name/website/contact person/ for actually getting the same padding....I'll comp. you with a decent size box of goodies.

Thanks,
Stu

Re: New AR15/10 - A2 stock acc. pack from R.T.G.

Based on nubucks description, it is close, but it also seems to be the material that a lot of shoes/boots are made of, wich would seemingly rule it out.

Searches for Lammy Suede, non-slip suede, nubuck, have turned up nothing, but a couple Chinese importers, and I have a real hard time believing that is where they are getting it from.

But I will comp a box of goodies as well to whoever spills the beans.

I think an actual employee would have to "defect" for us to find out that info...

Re: New AR15/10 - A2 stock acc. pack from R.T.G.

For Stu & Nick, you guys might want to check out this company:
Faytex Corp

They actually list "lammy suede" as one of their products. You can request sample swatches from them for comparison! They have more then one product that might be of interest under their products section if you order the swatches be sure to check them all out! It looks like some of their products are used for shoes/boots as well but they are a full fledged fabric supplier as well from what I can tell.

You guys can both PM me for my shipping address if it happens to work out!!

ETA:
Just as a follow up, I am almost positive this company produces the material in question!! Everything I find comes up for either shoes/boot's, helmet lining material, or rifle stock packs! Pretty much everything EXCEPTS the stock packs usually list "Dri-Lex" in their description somewhere if it mentions "Lammy Suede". And this company appearently are the ones that created the technology.

Dri-Lex's purpose is that it was "designed to manage moisture", which seems to fall in line with eagle's product claims of "Lammy suede is the only material Eagle Industries have found that has the same friction wet or dry. Other nonslip materials, such as rubber, work great when dry but become very slick when wet."

Keep in mind they actually have tons of "blends" of fabrics and this is sure to be one of them!!

Re: New AR15/10 - A2 stock acc. pack from R.T.G.

Boone: agreed and already done on another pack I developed for the Barrett 50 seen here: http://www.redtacgear.com/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=58

mattsnuked: "Also, how do you put it on the stock?" Ancient Chinese secret......I'm still working on perfecting the mount up idea.
The above proto-type it's all totally hidden...but is a major pain in the A$$ to mount up.

Thanks guys,
Stu

I have sample of both of these materials, from this company, as well as identicle products from Seattle Fabrics and others, no good.

Samples ordered from Faytex.

Re: New AR15/10 - A2 stock acc. pack from R.T.G.

I have samples of "Lammy Suede" from Faytex.

It's not the stuff.

What you want is "ultra suede". I have a sample here that came from an unknown source. I have a product that I will be bringing out later this summer that is a type of stock pack with some unique features. It will be use a similar material.

I should have used a cute wink so you both would know I am kidding, but the reality is all Stu has to do is call and ask. You on the other hand, not so sure.

Re: New AR15/10 - A2 stock acc. pack from R.T.G.

I would just like to have a chunk of that leather to glue to the side of a few stocks. I dont need packs, but like the way a simple piece of soft leather feels....If it was pink guys would be all over it
laugh.gif

Seriously, a small piece to stick on the cheek of a PRS stock would be sweet...black plese, i will supply the glue..
