Just got my hands on a new AR-50.

What bipod do you guys recomended?

To shoot 1000 to 1500 yards, how many MOA do I need in a scope? It has a 15 MOA base. Am I ok with a Leupold 6.5-20LR 30mm?

Also I need a case. I'd like one that I don't have to remove the butt stock. Most likely a soft case. I don't think hard cases come that big.

Before I get into reloading for this gun, what ammo is good to shoot? Barrett, Hunting Shack, etc.?

The Prince bipod seems to be the popular choice for the AR-50. I believe it will take a scope with 100 moa to get you out to 1000 with a 100 yard zero. I use a pelican case but like you say I need to remove the butt stock. It is not that bad it is only 2 allen head blots to remove the stock and you can put it in a much smaller case. I also remove the bolt when I store my rifle which is one allen head bolt. I have shot all kinds of ammo in my gun and it doesn't seem very picky about what it eats. Ball ammo is only going to be so accurate but feed it some match ammo and it is a tack driver. The sooner you get into reloading the better off you will be because it is an expensive beast to feed.

Maybe a hard case is the way to go? The AR50 is so heavy I may want the extra protection. If I get the soft case it'll be really long and heavy. With a hard case at least I could drag it by the wheels. I would however have to take the stock off to fit it in.

Does anyone know if I would need to remove the <span style="text-decoration: underline"><span style="font-weight: bold">scope</span></span> as well as the stock to fit it in a hard case?
