OK here's a question to anyone here. I have read several articles now dealing with a new barrel gaining velocity as it is being broken in. Some of the articles I have read said that a gain of 200 fps, or more, was gained, and also that the gun didn't group as well as it did for the first several rounds and consequently a new load for that particular gun had to be worked up. Of course as the machine marks and burrs are polished off during the first 100 rounds or so it makes sense that there would be less friction and that barrel would gain some velocity. And that being the case it would make sense that the gun would not be shooting like it did at first as far as elevation is concerned. My question is, does anyone know, or think that this could also affect the windage as well as the elevation? Thanks for any information or thoughts on this subject.
