Hello,
New here. Just received my first semi-custom precision bolt gun.
It's an Alamo Precision in 6.5 PRC with a 1-8 Brux, hvy varmint 26"
Cycled with a caliber correct jag going: rem oil, dry x2, hoppe 9, dry x3, (about 3 times), then two cycles with a cal correct nylon brush dipped in hoppe 9, followed by multiple dry patches. No brass at all push through bore, nor scrubbing back and forth - only pushed from receiver out, not pulled back through.

I've had plenty of new out of the box typical bolt guns, but this one has more blue residue (I presume copper) than I've ever seen from the first cleaning. Will be shooting it tomorrow for the first time.
Curious for thoughts, it seems like more than a few test rounds through it? Definitely not accusing that I got a used barrel, but couldn't find anything here or elsewhere, particularly for "high" quality barrels typically coming like this.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts or recommendations.

It's a tipton ultra jag - supposed to be nickel plated to avoid that issue.
But to be fair, I didn't try without it. I'll give that a shot

Edit* Thinking it's the rod head...never even noticed it's got what looks like a brass female thread adapter.
Pretty confident that's the culprit. Thanks
