New build almost complete

Alamo Precision is finishing up a barreled action for me, called to tell me it would be finished up next week.

I had a 16.5” 308 in a XLR element chassis, Jewel trigger, Harris bipod, weaver base and rings, PA scope, KRG boltblift, SiCo omega. It was a heck of a shooter for a cheap intro build. I had a lot of fun, learned a lot about shooting long range.

The new build is a Rem 700 Short Mag action, Bartlein 5r 1:8 twist barrel finished at 28”, chambered in 7 SAUM, will be in my XLR element chassis, trigger tech special trigger, bolt is threaded and will have a medium tear drop contour knob, Atlas bi-pod, Seekins 20MOA base, Seekins rings, vortex Viper PST gen II scope, will be running the SiCo break and omega. All of the parts are at the house waiting on the barreled action.

Looking forward to moving past 1,000 which was really my cap for my short barreled 308.

I’ll post up some pics as assemble goes. But here the overall. A closeup of the bolt knob, and the threading on the barrel. I was pretty surprised at how heavy the barrel was finished at 28”. That’s 5/8 x 24 thread. Looks like 1/2”
