New cartridge 6.8 Western

Looks interesting. Not sure you really NEED the extra energy for deer, and most elk guys will stick with magnums for long range anyway, but I'm always excited for new shit. Based on the advertised numbers, it looks like a good option for someone that wants a so-called kind of set up.

I've only read the one article. Anyone know what bolt face it uses?

Looks a hellofa lot like the 270 SS. He’s had a lot of success with his designs, So insure its great, but can’t help but wonder what it would be like in a 6.5 with a 147 or 153

The speeds out of a 24in barrel seemed pretty good. Kinda seems like it could fill the role of the more than a 6.5creed but don’t wanna go 7mm magnum variant kinda people.

Says it’s a 270 WSM case that has been shortened

It looks pretty cool, but after reading the article and doing some wikipedia research on the 270 WSM, it looks like the only real benefit to this cartridge over the 270 WSM is being able to use heavier bullets by shortening the parent case. Am I reading this correctly?
