First, I am not affiliated with, nor make a profit from any sales. I was searching on eBay for a new trimmer for my cases. The old hand trimming was getting old, really quick! I came across a trimmer called the CTS case trimmer. It was $42 so I figured I would give it a try. I got back from the range Wednesday and prepped my brass for trimming. After trimming 60 cases, there was a variance of +/- .001 across the board. Case mouths are burr free and very clean. I emailed the owner when I had a question and he was quick to reply with a phone number and talked to me for around 45 minutes with suggestions about the trimmer and even case prep and loading. If you are in the market for a new trimmer, take a look at the CTS. I would upload pics of the brass and trimmer, but I have already loaded them. Next trimming, I will put up pictures.

Interesting product.

Can't tell from the pictures, how do you adjust for trim length?
Did you happen to upgrade to the Carbide Cutter?
Do you just attach to a drill and then push the brass through the bottom?
Does it index off the shoulder?

Reading the article posted by justinbaker is much easier than me re-inventing the wheel. I built a box to hold my cordless drill with the chuck facing straight up. When talking to Jim, he said putting the trimmer in a drill press would be a bad idea because some trimmings may get in between the cutter and case mouth. Turn the drill on low speed, trim cases, turn drill off. Saves the arms from constant turning!

Sorry the picture is on its side. I tried twice and I can't get it to turn over. I did not upgrade the bit. It is my understanding that if the brass is free from dirt, dust, lube and other garbage that the bit will last a long time. It does index off the shoulder, so careful sizing is a must.

My buddy and I share a Giraud setup for 223, 308, 260, & 300 BLK. For the price, I wouldn't mind picking one of these up for 223 when the trimmer is at my buddy's house. For most of my 223 loading, I don't need to chamfer/debur if it is as clean as the review has it.

Ok, had a clean 30-06 case laying on the bench. I apologize for the iPhone photo. If you would like more crisp pics, pm me and I will get out the big camera and email you some. I am really impressed with this trimmer. Wish I would have had it a year ago when I trimmed 5000 once fired LC cases!image.jpg
