after reading positive reviews
I bought a new sar k2 45acp imported by eaa for 500.00
its basically a CZ 97 clone -all steel -14 +1 DA/SA
it has a great trigger & it groups well -fist size group at 25 ' is good for me anyhow
the problem is even with the sights maxed out it still shoots about 3" low & 3" left

I called eaa -they said ship it back -on my dime- & include a 20.00 check
I'm not sure what the issue is -barrel-crown or slide -but I know its not a sight issue -
because with the rear sight maxed out all the way up & all the way to right it still prints 3" left 3" low

Id hate to ship it back & have them just jack with the sights & send it back
I wouldn't want it -with the rear sight hanging off the right side of the slide
does any one have any experience with these ?

No experience with actually shooting the .45 K2, but I did have an unhappy experience long ago with EAA's so-called "customer service" regarding warranty work on a Witness pistol. Got the gun back 3 weeks later and it still had the same problem. The 'smith's note attached to the warranty card in the return box said: "Ramp polished. Test fired. Okay," or some such. Sold it at the next gunshow.

That said, EAA's CS has allegedly improved based on more recent posts on the gunboards by Witness owners whose pistols had to go back for various issues, such as, for example, a large number slides that cracked on standard 10mm Witnesses (not the upper tier "Stock" or "Match" guns).

Your K2 is a Turkish-built gun, not part of the Witness line, and having handled one like yours about a month ago, the gun looked pretty solid. Again, didn't get to shoot it, but I liked it much better than the full-size Witness .45s and better than a CZ 97B a friend has.

Assuming shooter-error isn't a factor, the issue with yours could be something as simple as installing a slightly shorter front-sight to correct the elevation problem. Not sure about the windage issue if the rear sight is max-ed over that far.

I just hope you don't get the gun back with the same sights simply re-aligned along with a note in the box that sez: "Test fired. Sights okay."

that's what I'm afraid would happen- I wished I could just find a aftermarket replacement barrel to try -no luck on that yet...
I was able to disassemble the rear sight & move the base over enough to get the windage right -but the its still low & it looks like crap with the sight that far over to the right -feels like your pointing one way & shooting another -

Well, even if someone did make an aftermarket .45acp barrel for a K2 it would certainly be more expensive than $20.00, plus shipping ...

... So, if you think that's really the problem, I'd roll the dice and ship the gun back to EAA along w/ a cover letter describing in DETAIL what the problem is, the ammo you shot, the POA/POI you described, etc.

In other words, be very specific about the problem because, apparently, EAA's sole gunsmith hasn't been blessed w/ an overabundance of brain-matter. Make it easy for him. That way if the gun comes back still F-ed up, you can contact the Turkish manufacturer, Sarsilmaz, by email, and let them know you got a lemon and EAA failed or refused to fix it.

When Witness owners did the same thing - bitching by emails to Tanfoglio, who makes the Witnesses, that EAA or its 'smith wasn't doing competent warranty work - Tanfoglio made sure they got taken care of, if the posts about their experiences are to be believed. There's an internet history to be read about the various customer service issues people have had over the years with EAA involving problem guns that were returned to be fixed. Everything from "attitude" on the phone to "warranty work" that, well, didn't work.

Hopefully, the issue with your K2's POA/POI can be solved with just one return and you can enjoy shooting the pistol. Good luck.

Low left impact is typical of pulling the trigger more than necessary and not straight back. Try putting the pad of your index on the trigger and bringing it straight back towards your nose. Your finger should pivot at the first knuckle, not the whole finger.
Hope this helps
Cheers.

Before I adjusted things, I would try shooting it alot more first. However, if you are very familiar with the trigger, and that pistol's ergonomics, I might adjust the sights first. The reason I say this, is that most people are right handed, and with a new pistol and it's different ergonomics, there can be a tendency for some people to squeeze the fingers on the trigger finger hand while pulling the trigger thereby causing the pistol to shoot to the left. Getting used to a new trigger often has people shooting low until they get used to the new triggers operation. Between those two natural tendencies, many right handed people shoot left a new pistol low and left. Left handed people shoot low and right...

However, if you have lots of time with this system's trigger already, this may not apply to you, in which case, sorry for using up the bandwidth.

above 2 posts sounds very reasonable -as I am by no means an avid pistol shooter
however I do shoot very well with my 629 revolver & I have a 229sig that I don't shoot as well with -but group is centered
maybe its a pistol thing as I have always shot a revolver in the past
any way I have already sent it back in to be looked at
or I am attempting to
I took it back to shop I bought it at & they cant believe its gonna cost them to ship it back to eaa
the store owner told eaa he would drop their product if he had to pay to send it back
meanwhile I'm stuck waiting for them to hash it out
this could get interesting

If they still have the pistol at the shop see if can get it back and try benching it or if know someone that shoots pistol a lot have them shoot it. How many types of ammo have you tried? Try a heavier bullet if available.

Hadn't heard from eaa long while so I sake my GS to call & check on it - they said it had been done for a whole but they were waiting on another 10.00 for return shipping - it cost me 65.00 plus 20.00 check to ship it to them
So I Just got it back from eaa Monday with a note test fired -ok- sights are adjustable - it cost me 95.00 to ship a new defective pistol back to an idiot who plainly don't know or don't care
Any way I'm gonna try to contact Sarlimaz - if any one can help with this procedure please chime in- last time I tried bit failed
I would even be willing to pay for another barrel and slide
I really like how this pistol feels in my hand & it has the absolute best trigger in the world - every gun I get I mod the trigger - this one is so good already I wouldn't feel the need to touch it
I hate to give up on it - but there comes a point where you have to bail & cut your losses
It a shame a weapon with this potential isn't backed by a decent qc it out shoots my 1911 my G30 & my Sig if you can remember to use a lot of Kentucky windage

Thanks ill keep that in mind
I have put about 200 rnds through it & dry fired it a bunch watching sight picture - but that is useful info
I can move the barrel in a figure 8 when it is locked up
I emailed sarlimaz & now I'll just wait & see what they will do if anything
