New goodie for the Optics Bridge. The Riser Extension. Here is the description from my website and some pictures as well.

Link -> https://mcleodprecision.com/products/riser-extension-for-optics-bridge

Also note that I will be packaging the Optics Bridge, Kestrel Holder, Wind Flag Pro, ARCA clamp and Riser Extension together into a single bundle for the holiday season. Turnkey kit. Put it on the Christmas list. Join my mailing list or follow me on the hide to get notified when it is available. I expect on or before Black Friday and the package will have a discount vs buying all components seperately. Pics below of the complete setup.

About the Riser Extension:

When I am sitting behind glass for 2 days on my tripod with the Optics Bridge, I notice that you have to lean forward a small amount to clear the 2 tripod legs. Small amount and small issue, but after 2 days of it, it does get annoying.

The Riser Extension allows you to move the clamp backwards 1.65". This small amount does not adversely affect the balance much and does fix the vertical alignment eliminating the need to lean in slightly. Two of us ran it for a full 2 day match and it worked out great.

The Riser Extension can also be turned 90 degrees so it is inline with the Optics Bridge and becomes a riser to help your clamp screw clear the base of the Optics Bridge. See photo for a visual and that knob in the photo is 0.8" diameter for reference.

Another scenario is mounting scopes or small spotters on the Optics Bridge. The Riser Extension can be oriented forward to shift weight in that direction, if need be.

The Riser Extension is for the Optics Bridge only. It is double sided presenting alternate mounting options with 1/4-20 counter sunk center holes and standard ARMS17 1.1" 10-32 threaded hole pattern. Comes with hardware to mount to the Optics Bridge. Weight is 2.5 ounces and is machined from 6061-T6 here in the USA.

All other related products seen here can be found at this link to my website -> https://mcleodprecision.com/

@NiteQwill turned me onto the @McLeod_Precision optics bridge when I was looking to ditch my tac table. I initially got just the optics bridge and kestrel mount (which are both fabulous by the way):

The optics riser/extension is a clever way to offset your optics (or clamp). In my case, I wanted I have my binos set back like this:

It doesn’t seem like a massive amount of offset but it helps me get a good look through my binos without having to get really close/tight between the tripod legs or crane my neck over.

Makes for a super nice, ergonomic setup. No going back to a tac table for me.

Thanks for the feedback and comments! I appreciate you testing this out before release.

The "loaded" version of the Optics Bridge is now available. Follow link above. Drop down on configuration to see the packages. There is an automatic discount when you buy the "loaded" version vs. buying components separately. For Black Friday you can combine with your PRS2024 discount code for a even better deal. I will leave this double discount available through Christmas.

Thanks,
Kevin
