^ I could be wrong but it looks like a factory stock w/a Karsten cheek piece. If so, OP do you have some pics of the mounting holes, stock w/cheek piece removed, etc.?
Yeah it's the factory stock, which is actually pretty nice, with the Karsten's rest on it. I don't have any pics with the cheek rest off, but it's as easy as everyone says it is. Drill 2 holes, tighten 2 bolts and you're done.
Yeah when I installed it, I wanted to get the rest in the perfect position, but also have it make the stock look pretty sweet. I thought to have the curve of the rest kinda follow up along the thumb would be pretty cool.
I think i need a wood working project to work on this summer and may attempt making a laminate stock for shits and giggles. I don't have a press but I do have a car...I think i'll use a steel i-beam and my buggy to press the wood overnight and see how it comes. I have a bunch of scrap colored wood that will make a nice camo stock. It's all walnut and birch - should layer pretty well and with a good slow cure and enough weight should be void free when done. We'll see...right now I lack ambition and have other projects on the plate. The 22 is my fun gun, and it shoots too damn nice to screw with it. I need to find me a case of the hornady stuff, that stuff is .5moa for me and very predictable.
^ That's like me man. I'm shooting 1 MOA out to 300 now (which is pretty good for me). I've thought of a laminate stock, a muzzle brake, even some of the sweet competition barrels. But I don't want to go ahead and change the way it shoots now! I should've put the dough into my .308 but I must say this little tac driver is addicting.
