Suppressors New folding knife

I am wanting to purchase a new folding knife. I want about a 3 1/2" blade, and Synthetic handles that maybe on the lightwt. side. I really like to older "good" Puma's but they weigh a lot, so I'm looking for a lighter knife for my bag. I do not want a partially serated edge, but want a really good, quallity knife. Try a cold steel voyager. I've used them for years and they are hold up well. I carry others but this is a great light weight knife and they take and hold an edge quite well.

Cold Steel Voyager is a solid knife, I've been using 1 for the past couple of years and I agree that they take and hold an edge well. Having said that, I am waiting on my composite blade Kershaw Shallot (ZDP-189 cutting edge and 14CZN spine) to arrive, and will likely buy a Kershaw Tyrade, composite blade,(blade is CPM-D2 backed with a spine of 154CM) before years end , but with Ti frame...

I use the Doug Ritter knives, I have both small and large folder. I realy like the s30v steel and the lock up is very strong and safe. I use them at work every day they hold up well. I plan on adding one of the fixed soon.

A voyager lives in my pocket. I have more expensive knives, but the Voyager keeps finding its way back into the pocket.

hard to wrong with cold steel if your on a budget, everyone i have had has displayed EXCELLENT performance with real use tasks.

I used the Cold Steel voyager as well as the cold steel gunsite.

That is - until I tried out the Cold Steel Recon 1. It's the best folder I've ever found. It has an amazing locking system that is easier and makes more sense than any other mechanism I've ever used. The thump tab is also a lot better than the other models. Check it out, I think it's pretty dope and at a good price point. Make sure to get the newer version that uses G10 grips.

I've found Kershaw folders, Ken Onion styles, to really hit a good nexus of quality, functionality, and price (especially when on sale). In other words, I think they offer a great value without ever feeling, working, or looking, like a bargain item.

Knives, however, are often bought with emotion and people get pretty passionate about their favourites, so you'll probably buy what moves you.

Go over to Bladeforums and pick up something nice used. Great deals to be had on safe queens. Look for a nice used Emerson Cqc7 or A100. Two of my favorites.

Good to see some Emerson love here - fantastic knives from a no-nonsense, 100% US made knife company. Ernie is a great guy as well and trains the elite of the elite in CQB. Once I got started with Emerson's in '99, I've been hooked ever since..

I've been using a Kershaw Blur for around five years. It's fairly thin and is very light. It's been the best folder I've owned.

You did not mention price parameters, therefore based on what you disclosed:

Strider SnG - Outstanding knives, warranty and CS is second to none.
Strider SmF - A bit more knife, not much added weight than SnG
Zero Tolerance 301,302 or 300 - great broad blade, heavier than SnG
Hinderer XM-18 - Great semi-custom knives. Rick's CS is awesome.
Spyderco Manix - Broad leaf S30V blade, quality production blade


If your on a budget:

Spyderco Endura 4 - make sure you look into the newest generation, they can be had for 35-55 dollars
Benchmade Griptilian - Good knives for the money 40-55 dollars


There are many knives that could fit your requirements. Look into these as they may help you narrow down your search or one of these may be the one your looking for.

+1 Good knives listed there with my favs being the hinderer xm-18, and then the striders. But you cant go wrong with any of zt knives either.

I'm really surprised that Benchmade has not been mentioned much on this thread.I have carried a Benchmade in one flavor or another for several years.Been really happy with them

Bought a Emerson Mini-Comander and have never looked back. I also own 6 different Cold Steel blades and a few CRKT knives and all are good. But nothing compares to a Emerson.

Another Emerson fan here! Carry a Super Commander every day and it's SCARY sharp and fast to deploy. A truly amazing blade, and I'd reccomend one to anybody.
