Hello everyone.

I am here because I got the sickness after building my first AR some years ago. That led to more, which made me try different calibers. Then on from that to about a gazillion handguns and rifles. Bought some good stuff, bought what I THOUGHT was good stuff. Made a ton of mistakes, groused about some lemons I've gotten over the years. But kept feeling the urge to do more long range shooting. My buddy and I have very similar but not identical gun tastes, so it has been fun trying out a lot of different weapons. More than I would ever have on my own.

So the new kick is long range calibers. I have become familiar with what makes a shit scope, and hopefully what makes a good scope. We take turns spotting and helping get on center. Which isn't so easy with these damn eyes lol. I have been avoiding having too many calibers, but good luck. So I want to finally see if we have the skills for really long range. (To me that's over 1000yds). So I am no expert, but trying to be humble, find others that have the sickness and see what I can some up with.

So in closing. I look forward to what this forum has to offer. Thanks and hello from Michigan.

Welcome! Like mentioned above, we're pretty limited in MI. to MTC or Young's just over the border in IN. Both of those ranges go out to 1000 yrds. Next closest I believe is Thunder Valley in OH. that goes out to a mile. There's a group of us from northern Oakland Co. that travel out to Kansas 4-5 times a year to a 3 mile range. PM if you'd like to chat more one day!

Yeah, long distance here is pretty limited. I have reliable word, that a gun store that rhymes with Schmokland Schmactical (lol...) is opening a 1000 yard range in the spring near M59 and I96 by the Outlet Mall. But since it's not my news, I'll consider it a rumor until I see it with my own eyes.

Thanks for all the greets. Maybe we can start up a shooting group for poor bastards that only get good shooting weather 4 months a year.

Heck....we shot today in the snowstorm! Here's two 5 shot groups I shot with my new AI. I could hardly feel my trigger finger.

Welcome from another new guy from Michigan. Mecosta county.

As far as ranges go, I believe there is a place near me called Two Hats Ranch that goes out to 1000 and does classes. I'm going to be checking that out soon hopefully.

I also follow MTC on Facebook, and it looks like they have a pretty sweet setup.

Welcome from eastern Long island. Nice grouping Machtech, in my business we train in all weather because you never know when your skill set will be needed. It's also good for hunters and comp shooters to shoot in different weather as sometimes the conditions can become adverse at the moment of truth. Just my worthless 2 pennies
