I've done a lot with pistols and ar's but I've always loved the idea of long range shooting. I recently decided to make the leap to precision rifles and looking forward to learning! After many hours of internet research, I think I decided on a Howa 6.5 barreled action, MDT Oryx chassis and a Vortex strike eagle as a more budget friendly rifle setup. Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

Im a Masshole.

I shoot at Sig a couple times a year and if you are interested there are some medium and longer range possibilities down here.

If you have a farm with steel to 1000 and don't live ten hours away, I'll bring you a small coffee if invited.

Welcome to the Hide from Middle Georgia. Sounds like you plan on a decent rifle already. I'm sure you'll get some more input on this setup and you should get some trigger time before spending too freely. You may find you did it right (for you) and can go a while before adding more money to the pile. Anyway, look for some shooting clubs and see what others are running and what works and what doesn't without spending too freely. But glad you joined and hope you enjoy your stay here...
