Alright so this is my first ghillie suit build I just finished cutting out reinforcement patches to place on the front. They are not attached yet I was just looking for some input on if there are any areas I am missing of if this looks good. I plan to shoe-goo the center then stitch around the edges then shoe-goo the edges down. The reinforcement is the remains of a seabag.

looks pretty good. if its cordura fabric, the shoe goo wont form real seal/hold. you can rip it right off. sewing is a must on this style set up with that fabric.
you might also consider enlarging your panels...such as covering the entire leg to move the stitching out of the high rub areas which could wear your stitching off, resulting in your skids coming loose.

Re: New Ghillie Reinforcement

As John said,

Larger panels on the front would be best. The seams will wear, and the skids will start to come off. It is best to go along the outer and inner seams of the jacket, such as on my ghillie, the top has skids from edge to edge.

I also sew diagonally from corner to corner, not that it adds a ton of strength, but it adds a little peace of mind.

Mine always ended up a lot like the last one there, Shay's. We used old duffel bags or shelter halves for skid plates, and I cut mine out to cover the front half of the top nearly completely, then used a heavy zipper down the front. The duffel bags were a little more water resistant, but the shelter halves were pretty tough and readily available. I also used this spray glue, it was a lot easier to use, and then stitched it with heavy fishing line. If you cut the plates to fit perfectly or even a little oversize, you can stitch it through the seams making it a lot tougher.

The one thing I would add is on the blouse make sure your reinforment goes all the way over the button flap and don't forget the forearm/elbow area. shoe goo/stitching combo is good for final attachment
