    Er, can you say "shot placement". Kidding, well slightly. As I know that killing fish ain't quite so easy as those creatures that walk as their primary means of getting around. At least when they're in the water. Once you get'em on the boat, barring large sharks, it's quick & easy to finish the job without any fuss, or mess to clean up. And they damn sure make for good eating, my favorite fare.

    I buddy of mine shot a 40-45lb amber jack once . He ended up having to hold on to the tower to keep from being taken to the bottom ! By the time he got it into the boat the spear shaft was bent in two places . Them Jack are one tough fish !

    I've only ever speared one underwater but have caught several on rod/reel...almost always a 20-30 minute fight. Unfortunately they carry ciguaterra and you can only eat the shoulder meat.
