Hello all,
new to the forum but not to forums. Been shooting and collecting for 10 years now. Recently got into long distance shooting, that is with an optic. Been shooting national match for 5 years but recently put together a R700 Police (.308) with a NF NXS and I am very impressed with its capabilities. Unfortunately I cant take it out beyond 500m where im at currently, too many trees in MI.
aside from my R700 build I have a DSA FAL, M1A, (2) M1 Garands, (4) 1911's, a custom built AR15, R870, M&P shied (carry) sure ill be posting pics at some point.
been wanting to take the barrel off and put a good coat of paint on it, the factory finish is a strange, almost sparkly, black. I have a custom JAE-700 being made for it currently (ordered January 2013) so id decide on the color after that arrives which should be any day. Ill probably end up painting it black again but am unsure of the best way to go about it. Hopefully I can get some tips here! I want a professional, clean, perfect finish and do not want to just rattle can it. I prefer to DYI anything gun related.
