New guy here. Ex-airforce avionics tech so never fired a weapon except to qualify never anything bigger than an M16. Always loved the idea of a good long range bolt action so last weekend I bought my first rifle, Savage Model 10 .308.

Finally went out and shot with it today at 100m:

starting from top left and going right:
3 shots, adjusted scope then 3 more, 5 shots and 7 shots. I don't think it was too bad for my first time with the rifle. It does a real good job with what I give it. Can anyone give advice based on my strays?

Welcome to the Hide!

I have Savage's Hog Hunter, Model 11, nearly the same as yours. Once your barrel has a few more rounds through it, those groups will tighten up some. I'm currently reloading with Sierra 175 grain MatchKings, and getting very good results.
