Evening yall.
Not much of a lurker but have participated in multiple other forums for sometime. I have recently grown tired of the AR/AK platforms as well as pistols. I decided to try my hand at precision rifle shooting while having a rig I could deer/yote hunt with. I just recently ordered a Remington 700 5R mil-spec that hopefully will be here next week sometime. It has a 24" barrel. Right now I am undecided on optics but leaning heavily towards the Vortex PST 6-24x50 FFP.
I am thinking I will start at 200 yds or so and then as my technique gets better begin to stretch it out in small amounts. Not really in a hurry to be shooting much past 400 as I am more interested in technique and precision. Hopefully my distant will increase with my skills. Looking forward to learning and becoming a better marksman.
