Hello all,
Just signed up the other day. I'm a USCG pilot currently stationed in Kodiak, AK. Started shooting in college. Smallbore, air rifle, and the like. Shot service rifle in the summer time. Finally finished up my Distinguished Marksman Badge this spring after an 8 year competition hiatus. In that time, I dabbled in USPSA/Action Pistol. Pistols are fun and all, but just not as satisfying as scoring a hit at long range with a rifle.
My adventure in practical/precision/tactical/sniper rifle shooting started several years ago when I picked up a can of military match grade 308 ammo at a great price. I didn't have a rifle to shoot it, so I carried it with me through 3 PCS moves. Finally, I said to myself "Self, either sell it or get a gun to shoot it." So I did what any sane shooter in their right mind would do...I had a rifle custom built to shoot the ammo.
One can of ammo, about 500 of my own reloads, & one local precision rifle match under my belt brings me here today. Looking forward to discussing all matters of shooting with all of you, learning something along the way, and getting more involved in this style of shooting.
