Finally made my way here to post, after signing up last April. Haven't done as much reading as I've wanted, because it's really only been in the past 5 months that I've taken to accurized shooting.
I've been shooting for many years, including some local competitions, but nothing precision oriented. Shot one of the local/monthly matches here in Phoenix, and got I think 5 out of 50 hits. I would love to blame it on equipment..and I think I can, but not as much as I want to.
But I had fun, wasn't unsafe and learned a lot. All good.
My current setup is a Remington 700 VSF, left-handed, in .308, in the H-S Precision stock. It's topped with a Leupold Mark 2 4.12x40 scope. So far, my most accurate load is 43.3 gr Varget, 168 SMKs and Lapua brass. I am still dialing that in.
